CHELSEA’S STORY
An MT Space production
Written by Sean McGrath
Directed by Pam Patel

7pm March 30

Registry Theatre
122 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2H 2L9

Chelsea’s Story is based on a true story. It centres on a group of three students who discover the diary of a 15-year-old girl named Chelsea, who is targeted and groomed by a man posing as her boyfriend to be trafficked for sex. Chelsea’s Story was written by Sean McGrath from Alter Ego Creative Solutions in the UK for people as young as 12 to understand what trafficking is about and the ways in which those who are vulnerable, particularly girls and young women, tend to be targeted and groomed. The production is approximately 60 minutes, followed by a facilitated debriefing and talkback with experienced staff from a local Sexual Assault Support Centre..

ABOUT MT SPACE

Since 2004, MT Space has maintained a commitment to working with artists from Indigenous, immigrant, refugee and other marginalized and racialized communities. MT Space has grown from being a company that produces one show every year to an organization that brings culturally and socially relevant work from across the country and around the world to our community of Waterloo Region. We have challenged the preconceptions of theatre to create, produce, and present work that is accessible and affordable to low income families while creating a space for Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, racialized and marginalized voices to be heard.
